Let me Just say...

I had this MASSIVE Christmas blog saved on here, that I kept meaning to finish up and post. But seeing as it's almost February, the wedding planning is making my crazy, and I really just don't feel like it...I'm not going to post it. lol. I'm just gonna start from where I'm at now.

Well, I guess I should say I had a wonderful Christmas, and having 3 extra christmas's to go to (the Shirey side) was actually cool. And everybody needs a little Yoko Shirey (Ty's crazy Japanese grandmother) comedy hour in their life...

Soooo, without further ado...
Let us continue on, in the year 2011.

Things have been crazy stressful for me as late, and I tend to break down and cry at any moment..just out of pure stress. It's been a crazy year already. We lost my cousin on New Years Day. I'm trying desperately to pass my math class, and if I do not, I'll lose my scholarship... I'm currently failing it. Found out the dog I've had all growing up has cancer. The store I work at is closing..and I'll be out of a job right before I get married. I still have to buy the wedding ring..and various other things for the wedding. I just do not understand how this will all come together.
I trust God, but I'm going to admit, I'm a little scared right now...just the human side of me comin' out I guess.

I know it will be ok..I'm just ready to see God's plan behind all this. I don't understand, and maybe I never will..but I faith that He'll bring me through.

On a better note,
I'll be Emily Shirey in less than 6 weeks! AHHHHH!!!!

All the showers are starting as well, and I'm really excited to see what all we get!
My family's is this saturday!

I'm dreaming of a WARM Christmas...

Yes.
If you know me, you know I HATE the cold. Unfortunately for all of my friends and family, when Winter arrives, I complain on average about 68x more than normal...which I readily admit is a problem, and is very distasteful.
The cold just makes me miserable, and I cannot understand for the life of me why so many people enjoy chapped lips, freezing noses, and wearing 5,000 layers of clothing.
But that's just me I suppose.

I'm definitely a Summer girl. I love love love the warm (and HOT, even) weather SO much. I love everything about Summer.

It's December 11, (my boss's birthday!) and the high today is in the 70's!!! Needless to say, I'm thrilled :)

As soon as I get home from work, I'm changing into shorts (ee!!) and making Christmas Candy!
Then my sister and I are going to lead worship under the bridge, and feed the less fortunate.
And later on, I'm hoping she agrees to come see Elf at the Downtown Cinema with me!!

I love it! Now my ipod can stay warm too :)

Bobble, Bobble.

I've recently recommitted to being soft drink and red meat free. I'm still working on the sweets...
candy and snack cakes are SO my weakness.
But in an attempt to feel better and tone up/lose a few pounds, I've started working out and eating better again.
Now, I really don't care that I've gained a few pounds, I mean, it still hasn't put me over 120 lbs, but I want my wedding dress to actually fit in 3 months..
as well as the clothes I have now. I'm busting out of them I think.


So....
I've been drinking 2 liters of water a day. It helps having it around, so I won't go buy a coke or eat a snack, I'll just take a swig (literally a swig, I tend to drink quite unlady like..) of water and usually suppress the craving.
And I'm desperate for my skin to clear up..I've pretty much tried everything.

These nifty little things are called Bobbles.
They're water bottles with a BUILT IN FILTER!! How.Awesome.

See, I'm not into spending 3 bucks a day on that wonderful tasting Smart Water, nor am I into wasting all that plastic. I'd rather just refill a bottle with tap water everyday.
The down side to that, is that West Monroe's tap water tastes REALLY bad. Like..where I pretty much hold my breath when I drink it.

This nifty little bottle would fix all of my nasty tap water and money spending problems!

So if you're looking for a Christmas present to get me...I'll take the 1L one thanks. :)

Pointless!

I'm totally procrastinating on this wedding planning stuff...
got the venue, got my dress, all my brides maids got their dresses ordered, got a trailer, got the honey moon...
yeah that's about it.HA.

Next on the list is picking the flower girl dress, who's doing the flowers, and the cake...cupcakes, in my case :)

But, this is me. And Me is not a bridezilla.
This bride just wants to be married; all that other wedding stuff is just petty.

Winter Quarter starts tomorrow...BOOOOOOOOOOO.

Musical Wish List.

I assume I'll be posting several different wish lists...but this is the one dedicated completely to the things that make my ears oh so happy. I mean hey..it never hurts to dream eh?


So. I need...

I have one already, but it's like literally from the 80's and doesn't look very cool...and it's insanely bulky..you know, complete with radio and dual tape player.
yeah.

Along with that, I'll need this..

Pretty much every time i've gone into an Urban Outfitters over the past year, I've picked this vinyl up to buy it..and eventually ended up sitting back down somewhere, and talking myself out of it because I already have the cd, and I could use the extra money to buy a moustache coffee mug or something...

Speaking of which...when I saw this vinyl online, a John Lennon album was right under it...and every single time I see or think about John Lennon now, Ty's grandma singing "Imagine" comes to my mind..
Not that I dislike the thought, it just makes me laugh..the first time I ever met her she serenaded me with the song, and preceded to tell me how people don't need to go to the gym to work out, they should just turn on The Beatles and dance like her...

Ha..just thinking about that brought a huge grin to my face. She's adorable.

When my sister and Ty first pointed these big bulky things out to me, and said they would both love some, I looked at them like they'd lost their minds..
but the more I think about it..I think they'd be awesome to have. So there.

And on to smaller music technology, I'm trying to decide whether I really want this..

Or one of these tiny little cute things..

If you know me, you know I LOVE tiny things. I can't explain it, I just do.

I'm thinking touch would be more practical, with my obsession with ipod game apps, as well as the face time on the ipod touch gen. 4, but they're way more expensive, and I just don't know if I really need all that?
and then I go back to just how stinking adorable the little nano is...and I can pick any color I want...

Well, that's enough of my dreaming for now...
I've got a 3rd Thanksgiving today! woo!

Merry Thanksgiving, Happy Christmas!

So I had just typed a seriously long and boring blog about why I love Thanksgiving and the holidays...and then I went to post a dashboard video at the end...
and it just reminded me how much I freaking love them...
so I just deleted the entire thing..
not because I love Chris Carraba more than the holidays (though he comes in a close second), but because everyone probably already knows how much I love the holidays..
and I'd rather post about Dashboard.
so there :).



His vocals aren't the best on this performance..but he's so freaking adorable here.


And yes, I realize this is a very "obsessed high school girl" post.
and no, I don't care. :)

Just a post to let you know i'm not dead!!

I've got a lot on my plate right now!
I'm a full-time student, part time employee, and my own wedding planner! I'm super busy! ..but not as busy as i should be, lol.

I'm doing better in school this quarter I think.
I'm really proud of myself.

In wedding/future Shirey news..
We're looking for a place to call home!

We both really want to buy a trailer...we just can't seem to find many!
If you know anybody selling trailers around here, let us know!

Otherwise, we're going for an apartment..which is ok, but i'm into privacy.lol.
